The Institute was established in 2007 with the primary purpose of research into the theological heritage of the reformer John Calvin. Other institutes of PRTA take part in the research, such as the Biblical Institute and the Institute of Systematic Theology. The most significant projects include translating some of Calvin’s commentaries on the New Testament, building up a collection of scholarly literature on Calvin published in Hungary and abroad, and the application of Calvin’s theological heritage in the 21st century. The Institute annually organizes a Calvin Conference at PRTA.
